The Tippmann Gryphon Paintball Gun set is perfect for those who are just new to paintball. It is reasonably priced and comes with the complete set-up—mask, loader, paintball clear tube, cup oil for maintenance, squeegee and black harness. It runs on carbon dioxide or compressed air. It is lightweight and easy to clean.
The Tippmann Gryhphon marker is a blowback .68 caliber gun that is built with the internal gas line, making it stand out among the majority of entry-level paintball markers in the market. The gun has a top-cocking bolt and is built with a two-finger blade trigger.
This marker can run on both carbon dioxide or compressed air but the set comes with the carbon dioxide tank.
This paintball gun has the standard locking vertical feed for the attachment of the loader or the hopper. Users however need to use a hex or Alan wrench to unlock or lock the feeder to the gun.
The set comes with a mask with an anti-fog lens, a 9 ounce carbon dioxide tank and a round black loader or hopper, as well. Users, however, noted that the mask is made from inexpensive material and not very durable. Neither is the mask very comfortable.
The set also comes with cup oil and the squeegee to clean the gun.
Users of this marker will experience a relatively short trigger pull, but will need to use two fingers to pull the trigger as it can be quite stiff. Paintball players will still get 9 balls per second rate despite the weight and effort needed to pull the trigger.
Players can feel the kick of the gun after firing shots, but the kick won’t be strong enough to bother or slowdown the player.
One major advantage of this paintball marker is that it can accept most brands of paintballs even the most brittle one. The balls (even the brittle ones) still won’t break despite some fast firing.
The shots are not very consistent as it can go up to 30 feet per second when shooting fast and the speed changes to 10 to 15 feet per second when firing at a normal rate.
Ease of Use
The marker is lightweight and players can play speedball with this marker.
Users must also take note that tightening the feed neck will require the use of a wrench.
It is also important for players to clean this paintball and the manufacturer has even included the squeegee and cup oil.
This marker is hard to disassemble, and new players who are experiencing some troubles with this gun will need to take it to a service technician for repairs.
This paintball set comes with a two-year manufacturer warranty.
The majority of those who have bought this product from Amazon have noted that they have not experienced any trouble with the marker.
There are no available upgrades currently available for the Gryphon Tippmann marker.
